ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE: Webster's defines "artificial" as man-made, or man-contrived, often following a natural model.

It defines "Intelligence" as the ability to learn, understand, and apply knowledge. It can also mean knowledge itself.

"One should not pursue goals that are easily achieved. One must develop an instinct for what one can just barely achieve through one's greatest efforts." —Albert Einstein

OK, let's put this into one package: Technology's sole purpose is to make things easy. Since the first adding machine, technology has steadily reduced the amount of intelligence mankind must master.

So, "artificial intelligence" is a man-made process for reducing and/or replacing human intelligence.

AI is no more threat than your TV. Just unplug it. What makes it a threat is the SECOND PARTY in the equation; you and me.

It takes TWO for a lie to work; the teller and the believer. It takes two for an education system to ruin a society; the nefarious education system and the parent who sends their kids to it. It takes two for a country to be overthrown; a tyrannical force and a sheepish populace.

If AI becomes a threat, unplug it. Don't buy it. Don't buy stuff with AI in it.

If you don't want the government monitoring your driving habits, don't buy a hi-tech car designed by the government. Get a car from the 1980s, fix it up and drive that. Too much trouble, you say? Oh, well....

If you don't want the technology world collecting and sharing your family's patterns and habits, get the technology out of your house and stop using credit cards. Too inconvenient? Oh, well....

It's one thing to throw your beer at the TV because of what's on the news. It's another thing to turn it off.

Don't want to get wet? Don't get in the pool.
