ELECTRONIC VEHICLES: I visited a car museum in Allentown, PA. They have an amazing array of automobiles throughout history. I was surprised when I came across one of the earliest Electric Cars.
Electric street cars in cities were visionary models for the electric automobile, and several showed up even before the 1900s. Throughout the decades, one experiment after the other was tried and found to be entirely impractical for the general public. For a host of reasons, they were only attractive to the wealthy city-dweller who could benefit from a car that had batteries crammed into all the storage spaces, and which needed to be recharged for HOURS after only a small amount of driving. The benefits were obvious; quiet and clean running.
Trouble was, they were impractical. In every age of automobile history, the electric car has been tried and shown to be a very poor investment for auto manufacturers. As backwoods redneck bible-thumping tobaccy-spittin' gun toters in flyover country, we've known the senseless waste that is the EV from the beginning. We've watched this trend develop unabated before our eyes.
Auto manufacturers ONLY build them because of radical industry-killing legislation and heavy infusions of our tax money into their businesses. As mainstream as the government is making them, they continue to be grossly unattractive to everyone except the most dedicated liberal, or the wealthy, who can afford to play around with them.
I find this amazingly ironic: Every auto manufacturer KNOWS that the #1 selling feature of EVERY vehicle - from heavy hauling trucks to daily grocery-getters - is power. The Ford F150 pickup I bought in 2000 had 240 hp. Today, it approaches 400 hp. Yearly boosts in power sells new vehicles.
Note that the SAME goes for EVs. Every generation of every EV offers greater power to stimulate sales. Even snowflake commie libs like a fast car!
When I encounter an EV owner, I ask how they enjoy my car. They know I helped them buy it, but aren't very impressed with ME.
Yes they are impractical and Yes they will never be used in large numbers. Bottom line the globalist fake man made climate change zealots know they will never work. The real issue is mobility. They want to restrict the peasants mobility and they throw out this bone to keep us quiet thinking there will be an alternative to our gas powered cars when the REAL issue is to get us out of ALL cars and restrict our mobility and thus the push for 15 Minute Prisons.
The ev article scaremongering about vehicle weights (other coal-powered car concerns aside) is silly. We had Suburbans that weighed 5800lbs empty and had 42-gal fuel tanks. They aren't collapsing parking garages. Semi-trucks are allowed 80,000 lb total weights loaded. This guy is worried about guard rails for a 6000lb car? Roads and parking structures are designed for the heaviest vehicles (plus some safety factor). The coal-powered cars are on the low end of the scale for roads and high end on garages. I think lithium fires are a greater threat in an accident.
Yes but you didn't have a garge full of these suburbans. First, let me again state.....EVs are not an option and the left knows they are not an option. The real agenda is to greatly reduce mobility of the peasants. Guard rails are only one issue and I stated many other issues. The last snow storm found many EV owners unable to fuel up or start their precious woke cars. There have been reports of these cars setting on fire while charging at people homes.....EV bikes too. Have you ever seen what a big tractor trailer does to a guard rail. Most end up in a ditch. And then there is the child labor they use to mine the minerals for these cars. Bottom line neither you or I will be driving anything because that is the real agenda.
You are missing the point. The structural design assumes a max weight for ALL of the parking spaces (and then adds safety factor above that weight plus seismic event impact loads). For instance, how many people are in the car, how much cargo, are the fuel tanks full? 8 passenger suburban could have an extra 2000 lbs. 15-passenger van could be extra 3000 lbs. Lots of variables that change the weight a lot. But an engineer can't assume all the cars are empty with a half tank of fuel. In other words, they assume a heavier load in each space - which the coal-powered cars do not exceed.
No I'm not. I stand by my first sentence. His chicken little arguments about weight and collapsing parking garages are foolish. Much better arguments against the coal-powered cars, but that isn't a valid one.
Karen, thanks again for this information. Most of this I knew, and I have written about the green fraud in the past. They were never going to replace the systems we have now, it is a hoax, and the so-called alternative energy sources can never be scaled up to meet demand. If the green twits would think through this, they would realize this fact. I did want to ask you if you are familiar with Kathren Austin Fitts? If not, then look her up asap. she is a resident of Tennessee, and a brilliant mind. Lots of interviews of her warning about the plans to take all we have away. and who is doing it. Thanks again for all you do, Jack.
Believe me they KNOW none of this green crap will work. Remember....the issue is never the issue. Yes I do know Catherine. My TN Citizens for State Sovereignty group has a spot on her website. I had dinner with her about 2 weeks ago. She is a brilliant, lovely person.

No it is you that is missing the REAL point. We will not have either gas or power driven cars. They want us shuttered down in our 15 Minute Prisons.
