The Tax Reform Act of 1993 (Clinton) raised income taxes by 35%, effectively negating any financial benefits working women were providing to their families. I have had this conversation with many mothers over the idea of homeschooling. They have no clue how much they spend just to go to work each day. The real problem is they do not want to stay home. When they start throwing the excuses I just say "well if you really wanted to do it you would find a way, if not you will find an excuse.
Excellent observation! Every parent in America is conditioned to believe that you cannot be anything without a college degree. Every woman has been conditioned to believe that they are absolutely NOTHING without a career outside the home. If they DO stay home, they become self absorbed and cannot wait to see that school bus in the morning - their day is THEIRS until it shows up again. Satan's most brilliant accomplishments! The younger generations, today, are not getting married, and not having kids. Look around any church: 60% of the members are over 60 yrs old and the kid's programs are hardly necessary. Fewer and fewer heirs to the Gospel and to the American ideal.
